The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Debrecen is organizing a competition open to all students of the university with the aim of identifying student ideas and developments related to artificial intelligence, discovering talented teams, supporting students in gaining professional experience, and showcasing existing AI solutions. The competition, titled DEIK.AI Challenge 2026, is supported by the Innovation Ecosystem Center.

Doctor of Pharmacy graduates were honored at Saturday’s commencement ceremony at the Faculty of Pharmacy (GYTK), University of Debrecen. At the ceremony held in the Main Building’s Ceremonial Courtyard, 75 graduates received their diplomas certifying the successful completion of their studies. A total of 16 different honors and awards were also presented.
More than 400 students from the University of Debrecen’s Faculty of Political Science and Law received their diplomas on Saturday during two ceremonies. In the Ceremonial Courtyard of the university’s Main Building, nearly 100 students received their diplomas certifying their degree in law, while 20 students graduated from the master’s program in European and International Business Law.
During the spring semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, more than 550 students at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen fulfilled the requirements for graduation and received their diplomas on Friday in the Ceremonial Courtyard of the university’s Main Building. At the ceremonial faculty meeting, Dean Veronika Fenyves announced that the faculty’s program portfolio will be expanded with a new master’s degree program.
Altogether, a total of 350 Hungarian and international students earned their degrees at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen in the spring semester. In an address delivered at the graduation ceremony on Thursday, Dean András Hajdu underlined that, in a world full of challenges and shaped by artificial intelligence, the knowledge that the young professionals who graduate from the faculty have obtained is going to be needed more than ever
The Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Debrecen “bade goodbye” to nearly four hundred graduates at two commencement ceremonies held on Wednesday. Beside the faculty’s undergraduate and master’s students, newly graduated technical translators in the natural sciences and engineering also received their diplomas at these events.
Graduates of the Faculty of Medicine took their oaths and received their medical degrees and diplomas on Saturday. There were more than 140 Hungarian and international students at the ceremonial faculty meeting, where degrees of Doctor of Medicine were conferred on them.
Following the 158-year tradition of agricultural studies in higher education in the city of Debrecen, 185 students from the University of Debrecen’s Faculty of Agricultural and Food Science and Environmental Management received their diplomas on Friday in the Aula of the Main Building. Among the graduates, 116 received diplomas with honors, high honors or distinction.
The first in a row of summer graduation ceremonies of the current year was held by the University of Debrecen on Thursday. There were almost 300 students from the Faculty of Engineering receiving their diplomas at the ceremony, which was held in the Inner Courtyard of the Main Building, while a number of special honors and awards were also presented.
A team of eight students represented the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen at the Middle European Planning Seminar held in Poděbrady, Czech Republic. At the Middle European International Urban Planning Workshop, these participants were able to test their engineering knowledge in an international environment, gaining insight into the unique educational methods and standards of other countries and solving real-world urban planning challenges through hands-on practical projects.
